The Shippen is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Hartland Peninsula. It is 1.5 miles to Hartland village where there are shops, several pubs and a Post Office. Hartland Quay with its beautiful, dramatic scenery is a 10 minute drive away and has a beach and a pub. There are plenty of other beaches within easy reach, both small secluded rocky ones and the large sandy beaches at Bude and Northam. There are beautiful walks around the coastal path and inland.
